country manager at TÜV SÜD brazil

#FutureInYourHands – This motto properly describes how TÜV SÜD empowers its employees. Let's hear directly from our TÜV SÜD executives and staff members about their personal experiences working for TÜV SÜD.

Can you describe your role within the company?
I joined TÜV SÜD in 2013 as the CFO for the South America region. Recently, when the region integrated with North America and united to form TÜV SÜD Americas, I transitioned into the role of Country Manager for Brazil. In this position, I am responsible for organizing shared services, as well as overseeing and supporting our legal and corporate communications business unit.

How did you choose this career path?
I’d say this career path chose me. I studied Electrical Engineering and began my career working in Information Technology support and development. Gradually, as my role changed, I became an auditor for ISO 9001, ISO 27001 and product certification. While working for a different company, I was offered the CFO position within that organization. Once I joined TÜV SÜD, I was able to use the skills I learned to continue growing my career.

What do you enjoy most about your job and working at TÜV SÜD?
I enjoy the ability to communicate with several business units across different regions, and support them to achieve their goals. Recently, we had great success testing cosmetics samples in our TÜV SÜD Brazil labs for a client. These successes for our clients really add value to the work we do. I also enjoy the tax and legal requirements aspect of my job, which is critical on cross-functional activities.

What is one way you've grown in your career?
There are several ways I have grown and developed in my career. I've had to combine two very contrasting organizations, and learned various ways of how to bring people together from different companies, transition them into one team, and work toward a shared goal. I've learned it is imperative to maintain a positive and effective work environment, as well as what it means to take on a leadership position.

What is your driving mission?
Right now, I think communication is key. When faced with bringing people together, it’s important that we all maintain proper communication methods. I’m tasked with facilitating the communication between business leaders within their corresponding regions and divisions in Brazil.

When not working, how do you spend your spare time?
When not working, I spend time with my family. We enjoy going on walks, getting ice cream, and watching movies.
