#FutureInYourHands
#FutureInYourHands – This motto properly describes how TÜV SÜD empowers its employees. It’s best to hear from TÜV SÜD executives and staff members what their personal experiences are working for TÜV SÜD.
Can you tell me about your role within TÜV SÜD?
I primarily focus on the development of functional safety in North America. I have been contributing to evolving the business since I joined TÜV SÜD in August of 2019.
What do you enjoy most about your job and working at TÜV SÜD?
I truly enjoy the team of people I get to work with. Not only within the functional safety department, but also within other departments as well. I think we have a great network of people with good personalities who work exceedingly well together. I also think TÜV SÜD has a wide range of capabilities that I am very happy to be working with. I believe I can confidently talk to customers about the many services that we offer.
How did you choose your career path?
I really have a passion for functional safety, and I believe it’s a very important and necessary business to be a part of. Early on in my career, I knew that I wanted to be involved in this industry and contribute to growing and developing the business.
You mentioned you became involved in functional safety early on in your career. What advice do you have for young people considering entering this field?
I strongly believe that this field is very important and that it serves a great purpose. Functional safety is a crucial part of the overall industry and with technology consistently developing at an exponential rate, the need for functional safety will continue to increase. It is relied upon for everyday things and will continue to grow and evolve over time. For instance, as we see autonomy become more prevalent in society, functional safety will play a key role in determining how that technology is used.
As the need for functional safety grows, what do you think this industry will look like 20 years from now?
I’m confident this industry will continue to carry high importance 20 years from now. It’s critical that new techniques are adopted now, as opposed to later. These requirements adjust to changing times and ensure that technology is implemented at a faster rate.
When you're not working, how do you spend your spare time?
I love to cook. Since I have been working from home lately, I have been able to do a lot more cooking, which has been very enjoyable. I’ve also been spending time working on various projects around the house and getting things done.
