Instituto Ecuatoriano de Normalización (INEN), Organismo de Acreditación Ecuatoriano (OAE)
Regulations
The imported products under mandatory Ecuatorian Technical Regulations (Reglamentos Tecnicos Ecuatorianos) shall demonstrate their compliance through a Recognition Certificate issued by the local authority INEN (Instituto Ecuatoriano de Normalización) for product import and commercialisation.
Guidelines
- Before product commercialisation, importers shall register the Recognition Certificates in the Quality Department of the Ministry of Industry and Productivity of Ecuador
- Submit the application
- Test in a INEN accredited lab
- After the OAE accreditation verification, the technical documents shall be submitted by the importer to INEN

Telecom and Wireless
regulatory agency
Agency for the Regulation and Control of Telecommunications (ARCOTEL)
regulations
- The ARCOTEL is the “Agency for the Regulation and Control of Telecommunications” and is the telecom authority in Ecuador.
- Wireless products, telecommunication terminal equipment, cellular, satellite, and other PSTN equipment require approval and certification in Ecuador prior to importation and commercialization.

Type approval procedure:
- Submission of application to ARCOTEL
- Testing in accredited lab and proof of compliance can be shown through other national approvals, such as an FCC grant and report, or EU certificate along with the associated test reports
- Issuance of type approval
Applicable product categories
For any type of radio communications product which has an output transmit power higher than 50 mW EIRP, ARCOTEL certifications is mandatory.
