What is the structure of the Scrum certification?
There is the Scrum Master and the Scrum Product Owner certification. At both levels, appropriate training with an approved training provider is recommended. Without participating in a training course, the participant assures that he/she is familiar with the syllabus (Guidelines Scrum - TÜV) and confirms that he/she has acquired this content in advance through training courses or self-study. With these certifications, you prove your in-depth knowledge in the respective roles.
Where can I find approved Scrum training or training providers?
The Examination Institute approves Scrum training providers and lists these on the homepage (see training providers). These training providers can order the Scrum Master or Scrum Product Owner examination required from us. The examination is approved by an invigilator authorized by us.
In which languages is the Scrum examination available?
All examinations and examination questions are available in German. English is in the planning phase, and will follow soon. Important: If you would like to take the examination in English, please inform your training provider of this upon registration. The TÜV SÜD Examination Institute makes the examinations available in German as standard.
Not a native speaker of German (for English examinations, not a native speaker of English)? Upon provision of proof and notification before the examination, you can get a time extension.
Is there a re-certification or are the Scrum certificates valid for a limited period of time?
The certificates contain a note stating according to which Scrum Guide they were checked. This note refers to the current version of the respective Scrum Guide at the time of the examination. The certificates are valid for an unlimited period of time.
Are there student discounts?
Students get a discount on the examination fee upon submitting their enrollment certificate.
Important: We require a current confirmation from your recognized university for these student discounts. Please inform your training provider of your status as a student upon registration for Scrum training. Submit the required proof.
How is the quality of the examination questions for Scrum examinations ensured?
All examination questions are approved by the Scrum TÜV advisory board and the examination commission. The examination questions have been created based on the Scrum Guide, Scrum TÜV guideline and examination regulations of authorized specialist experts. The task of the examination institute is to monitor and manage the Scrum TÜV advisory board.
After each examination, the TÜV SÜD Examination Institute records all answers selected by the participants for each examination question. The results of the evaluation are passed on to the examination commission in an anonymized form at regular intervals for continuous improvement. This ensures that all examination questions are checked at regular intervals.
