On 9 July 2021, the Saudi Arabian Standards, Metrology and Quality Organisation (SASO) issued a Technical Regulation for Saudi Arabia RoHS. The regulation aims to restrict the usage of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment and to define the conformity assessment procedures to which suppliers must adhere. This regulation was originally scheduled to come into effect on 5 January 2022. However, SASO has decided to postpone the implementation date for 6 months. The regulation will be implemented in the phases below:
