Verify the performance and safety of traction batteries in extreme environmental conditions
TÜV SÜD offers a wide array of different environmental battery testing services to support our customers in demonstrating product safety and gaining widespread acceptance of their traction batteries. We offer environmental tests against various international standards like ISO 16750, ISO 12405 and OEM specifications like LV124 standard.
Environmental testing simulates extreme environmental conditions that traction batteries encounter once in operation. The tests expose batteries to a variety of conditions such as heat, cold, corrosion and vibrations The batteries are assessed in test chambers designed specifically for environmental testing of batteries. They are subjected to an array of assessments, including humidity, thermal cycling, salt spray, vibration and shock testing.
Environmental tests ensure that batteries will be able to withstand 'real world' conditions during later use and fulfil the required quality and safety standards – in any use case, be it in electric vehicles, in mobile use or in stationary application.
There are several international standards such as ISO 16750, ISO 12405 and OEM specifications for environmental testing of traction batteries like the LV124 standard. The benefits of testing your batteries against these standards include:
TÜV SÜD’s portfolio of environmental battery tests covers a host of different applications, including automotive, off-road, aerospace, rail and waterborne transport and the extensive field of battery industry. We rely on years of international experience and can provide testing services in our laboratories with ultra-modern test equipment and highly competent experts. This versatility helps us to act as the best partner possible for your environmental battery testing needs.
Our experts have a complete understanding of various environmental battery testing methods that are appropriate for different applications and can perform assessments according to various global standards.
TÜV SÜD offers environmental testing for high-voltage batteries in accordance with an array of different international standards, including ISO 16750, LV 124 standard and ISO 12405. The batteries can also be actively operated, i.e., charged or discharged, during testing.
