On 20 December 2023, the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) has published the Commission Communication (C/2023/1064)1 for the titles and references of European standards, which should be used to demonstrate compliance of nickel under entry 27 of Annex XVII of REACH. A recent publication of EN 1811:2023 has been adopted by the European Commission (EC) and became effective on the date of OJEU publication.
According to REACH Annex XVII entry 27, the standards published by the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) should be used to demonstrate compliance of nickel release. The EC website2 will later include this updated information.
