Thailand: Plugs and socket-outlets for household and similar purposes are regulated since November 2020

AUGUST 2020 - ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS

There is a new announcement published on 14th July 2020 that safety approval will be mandatory for all plugs and socket-outlets for household and similar purposes which will be imported or sold as separate device in Thailand. It is not applicable for the plugs and socket-outlets which are for other purposes or are imported/sold as accessories together with the end product. The applicable standard is TIS 166-2549. 

This announcement will come into force 120 days after the publish date, which will be 11 November 2020.
