EU: Czech Republic repealed legislation on toys and children's products
AUGUST 2023 - SOFTLINES, TOYS AND CHILDREN'S PRODUCTS
Recently, Czech Republic has repealed its decree on toys and products for children under 3 years by Act No. 167/20231 (Sbirka zakonů č. 167 / 2023, the Act).
In 2001, the Czech Republic published the Decree of the Ministry of Health No. 84/2001 Coll.2 to establish hygienic requirements for toys and products for children under 3 years. In 2005, this decree was amended by Decree No.521/2005 Coll.3 The requirements in the decree include colour fastness, restriction of heavy metals and pH value, etc.
With the publication of Act No. 167/2023, Decree No. 84/2001 and Decree No. 521/2005 were repealed on 1 July 2023. Hence, there are no additional national requirements on toys and children’s products in the Czech Republic.
