China: China Quality Certification Center Announces New "Certification Mark Use Approval" Effective March 1, 2025

On February 21, 2025, the China Quality Certification Center (CQC) announced that the updated version of its "Certification Mark Use Approval" will come into effect on March 1, 2025. This update is part of the Action Plan for Building Credibility in the Quality Certification Industry (2024-2026) initiative.

The issuance of the previous version of the "Approval for the Use of Certification Mark" will cease on February 28, 2025. However, approval letters issued on or before this date will remain valid for the duration of the approved certification certificate’s validity period, meaning applicants are not required to replace them with the new version before the expiration of the existing approval.

Key Features of the New "Approval Letter"

The updated approval letter will include the following details:

• Name of the approved organization
• Type and style of the logo
• Location of use
• Scope of the certificate
• Approval period
• QR code for verification

The approval letter will be issued electronically in OFD format.

Mark Management System and Filing Requirements

Effective immediately, the filing of voluntary industrial product certification marks has been integrated into the China Quality Certification Center Product Certification Mark Management System (referred to as the "Mark Management System"), accessible at www.cqcbz.cn.

This system serves as a comprehensive one-stop platform for certification mark management, offering services such as:

• Standard certification mark procurement (CCC, organic, energy/water-saving, CQC, etc.)
• Full-category certification mark printing/molding filing
• Anti-counterfeiting code sales (organic code)
• CQC certificate registration management
• Other certification-related services

Certified organizations must complete an online registration and pass the specified review process to access these services.
