When Spanish engineering firm ESTEYCO revolutionized offshore wind turbine design, TÜV SÜD was there to ensure safety and reliability. Our experts developed a certification procedure for ESTEYCO’s groundbreaking ELISA/ELICAN project, which features a telescopic tower and gravity-based floating foundation. This innovative approach eliminates the need for costly installation vessels and cranes. By certifying this pioneering technology, TÜV SÜD helped make offshore wind energy more accessible and cost-effective, providing clean power to over 3,000 households.

In South Korea, TÜV SÜD Korea is leading the charge in hydrogen mobility. Partnering with the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy (MOTIE), we’re assessing the safety of hydrogen-electric trams and building the infrastructure needed for mass production. Our experts ensure that these trams meet domestic and European railroad safety standards, paving the way for environmentally friendly public transport in Asia and beyond.

Hydrogen is the future of energy, and TÜV SÜD is at the forefront. We developed the first-ever guideline for assessing the readiness of combined cycle power plants (CCPP) to switch from natural gas to hydrogen. Siemens Energy became the first company to receive our “H2-Ready” certification, marking a significant milestone in the transition to clean energy. Our certification services are now available to OEMs and EPC companies worldwide, enabling the global shift to hydrogen-powered solutions.
