Argentina: Regulation Provision Issued by Ministry of Economy regarding Resolution 237
November 2024 - ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS
On November 5, 2024, a regulation provision was issued by the Ministry of Economy regarding Resolution 237.
As published in Resolution 237, S-mark will be effective until March 28, 2025. On this date, all products will be marked with another new marking of conformity with the dimension specified below. The marking may be monochromatic or bichromatic. It must be placed before the marketing of the product. Its placement will show that the manufacturer or importer fully complies with the conformity assessment procedure required by Technical Regulation.
It shall be placed in a visible location on the product or on its primary packaging. In case of a small size of product, the minimised dimension may not be less than below size:
In the 3.2 of the Annex to the Provision, an Affidavit of Conformity is mandatory to prepare and to be signed by the local importer before the product commercialisation. This is similar to a self-declaration letter which must include the following information:
1. Manufacturer or importer information:
- Company name
- C.U.I.T.
- Trade name or trademark
- Legal domicile
- Address of the importer’s production plant or warehouse
- Telephone
2. Product information
- Unique product identification code (Self-determined)
- Manufacturer (including address of production plant);
- Product identification (brand, model, features, techniques)
3. Standards and conformity assessment
- Regulations
- Technical Standards
- Reference to the conformity assessment document
4. Other data
- Link to the copy of the declaration of conformity on the Internet
- The following text must be included: “This sworn declaration of conformity is issued, in all respects, in accordance with the Technical Regulations referred to above, assuming direct responsibility for the declared data, as well as the conformity of the product (by machine translated).”
