NOVEMBER 2024 - ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS
In force (since Oct 02, 2024)
On October 2, 2024, the Mexican Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT) issued an update to the Guidelines for Radio and Telecommunications Equipment Type Approval, incorporating the IFT Label as a new requirement for the marking or labelling of telecommunications and broadcasting products.
According to the amendment, every approved product must feature either a physical or electronic marking, which can be in printed, digitized, or reproduced form. For electronic markings or labels, the following conditions must be met
The agreement further stipulates that the prefix "IFT," the Certificate of Approval number, and the IFT Seal must be clearly visible.
If the product is factory-installed or its dimensions are smaller than 35mm x 10mm, the marking or labeling must be included in the product manual.
The updated agreement became effective on October 2, 2024.
