Compliance Services for Lighting Manufacturers
A local building inspector looks for properly labelled lamps in permanently wired lighting fixtures or integrated LED fixtures. The lighting fixtures need to be compliant products that appear on the Energy Commission’s Modernized Appliance Efficiency Database System (MAEDBS), a publicly available database that lists all regulated products.
All fixtures installed in residential construction are required to be “high efficacy” as defined by Title 24. Any permanently wired fixture with standard screw-base sockets or other standard socket types is considered “high efficacy” if it contains high-efficacy light sources at the time of inspection. If you manufacture or sell “High Efficacy Light Sources” for installation within new and/or remodeled homes, your products must appear in the Energy Commission’s Modernized Appliance Efficiency Database System (MAEDBS) as required in Title 24.
