We Can Help You with CSA Testing and Certification

Electrical and electronic products placed into the Canadian market must comply with electrical safety standards, namely CSA Standards. There are other standards aside from CSA standards; they include UL, ANSI, IEEE, IEC and NEMA CSA standards, to name a few.

There is a misconception that only CSA Group can test, certify, and apply labels to CSA Group standards. However, like UL (Underwriters Laboratories), CSA Group operates as two unique and separate entities. One being CSA Standards Development - an independent body focused on developing standards. The second, CSA Testing, Inspection and Certification; a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories (NRTL) as accredited by the Standards Council of Canada (SCC).

There are no obligations for any manufacturer to contract with CSA Group to perform tests to CSA Group standards. They can utilize any NRTL to perform safety testing to CSA standards, and any other standard that that NRTL is accredited to perform.
