UK: Revised list of toy designated standards published
JUNE 2023 - TOYS AND CHILDREN'S PRODUCTS
On 22 June 2023, UK’s Department for Business and Trade announced a new consolidated list1 of designated standards for demonstrating compliance with the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011 (S.I. 2011/1881)2, which came into force on the same day. This revision has updated the toy standard EN 71-13 for olfactory board games, cosmetic kits and gustative games to the latest version.
The proposal to amend the list of designated standards for Toys was published on 25 May. With the absence of objection to the designation, the references to designate the new standards have been released on day 29 (i.e., 22 June 2023).
While the proposal to amend the reference to electric toys safety standard EN 62115 is still pending, it was scheduled for publication on 14 March 2023 but was postponed, allowing the assessment of objections received on the designation.
