Korea: Establishment of Korean Industrial Standards (KS) on Electric Cooking Appliances
JUNE 2023 - ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS
On 16 May 2023, the South Korean Agency for Technology and Standards (KATS) issued Notice No. 2023-841 to announce the Establishment of Certain Korean Industrial Standards (KS) based on international standards.
In the Notice, new KS standards for household electric cooking appliances are introduced and the standards are harmonized with IEC international standards. The new standards are:
- KS C IEC 60350-1 Household electric cooking appliances - Part 1: Ranges, ovens, steam ovens and grills - Methods for measuring performance.
- KS C IEC 60350-2 Household electric cooking appliances - Part 2: Hobs - Methods for measuring performance.
This Notice entered into force on 16 May 2023.
