EU: REACH candidate list includes 241 SVHCs now
JULY 2024 - ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS, HARDLINES, SOFTLINES, TOYS AND CHILDREN'S PRODUCTS
On 27 June 2024, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) published the 31st update of the REACH Candidate List. One (1) new Substance of Very High Concern (SVHC) was added, bringing the total number of SHVCs on the list to 2411.
During March and April 2024, the ECHA launched a public consultation, and proposed two new substances to be identified as SVHCs. However, the Member State Committee could not reach a consensus on one of the proposed substances, triphenyl phosphate. As a result, this substance was not included in the Candidate List for this round.
Table A provides the substance name, identification numbers (CAS and EC), the reason for inclusion, and the potential applications.
