What are the VSTD standards?
Taiwanese VSTD (Vehicle Safety Testing and Design) standards outline the technical requirements and criteria that vehicles must meet in this market. They are part of the Vehicle Safety Certification Center (VSCC) regulations that ensure the safety, environmental compatibility, and performance of vehicles. The VSCC is the designated authority responsible for implementing and enforcing these standards and regulations.
Manufacturers who wish to export their automotive products to Taiwan must demonstrate that their vehicle complies with VSCC regulations. All tests must be conducted by an accredited technical service provider at their own laboratory, or at a witness laboratory which is approved by the Taiwanese Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC). Furthermore, different VSCC certificates for different categories are needed to receive overall homologation.
