Acceptance of Client Testing (A.C.T)

The TÜV SÜD Mark philosophy of maximum safety, quality and product function remains uncompromized through the A.C.T. program, providing confidence that all applicable tests were carried out under the strictest of conditions and with the highest level of quality. A.C.T. is a faster, lower-cost process leading to U.S. and global certifications.

The TÜV SÜD A.C.T. program authorizes a manufacturer to perform their own product safety, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and / or ENERGY STAR® testing at their facility, with the test results reviewed and approved by TÜV SÜD America’s expert engineers prior to the product’s certification.

Key requirements

To participate in the A.C.T. program, a manufacturer must meet two key requirements:

1. They must possess and maintain the capabilities to test their products to relevant safety and / or EMC standards.
2. They must pass a TÜV SÜD on-site A.C.T. audit of their capabilities, supporting documentation, and technical staff.

 

• Significant reductions in testing time and third party testing fees are the most frequent benefits enjoyed by authorized A.C.T. facilities. The decrease in time to market creates an impact on the decision to become an A.C.T. partner.

In addition to testing for product certificates, an A.C.T.-approved facility may submit test reports and data to TÜV SÜD for formal review and endorsement. This is a sound practice for products that require a CE Mark.
