Alternative Fuel Technology Testing and Certification (CNG/H2)

Drive the push for cleaner fuel sources

Your Trusted Expert in the Field of Alternative Fuel Technology

The rising cost of traditional automotive fuels and the push for environmentally cleaner technologies have been favoring alternative fuel technologies. Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Hydrogen (H2) are emerging as strong and viable alternatives to traditional fuels within the automotive industry.

These technologies require the development, testing and certification of all specific components or systems capable of safely handling the fuels in various vehicular applications to extreme ambient conditions. Once tested and certified, these products will gain access to domestic and international markets, helping to grow your business.

Take Your Alternative Fuel Components and Systems to Market

Within the scope of type approvals, TÜV SÜD tests vehicles and components according to a range of alternative fuel regulations, including:

  • UN/ECE-R134 /GTR No.13, EC79/2009 & 406/2010/EU, HPRD1, HGV2, HGV3.1, SAE J2601 for hydrogen and components for liquid hydrogen vehicles
  • UN/ECE-R110 regulation, ECE Regulation 110, UN/ECE-R115, ISO 14469, ISO 15500, PRD1, NGV1, NGV2, NGV3.1, NGV4.2, NGV4.4 for natural gas
  • UN/ECE-R67, UN/ECE-R115 for liquefied petroleum gas

These technologies require the development, testing, and certification of all specific components or systems capable of safely handling the fuels in various vehicular applications, to extreme ambient conditions.
