Delivering business benefits across key segments
TÜV SÜD’s iAM Production Site Certification supports additive manufacturing (AM) centers, which are focused on industrial grade services, to successfully navigate the complexity of delivering market-leading services.
Additive manufacturing (3D printing) techniques and underlying technologies are advancing rapidly. Increasingly used for manufacturing purposes, the requirement for reproducibility and reliability presents a completely new challenge for the entire industry. Stakeholders also have high expectations of how this new technology can contribute to serial production innovations, which makes a high quality of service imperative.
As additive manufacturing enables state-of-the-art designs, significantly shorter supply chains and product consistency, nothing must be allowed to impact production. Alongside these challenges, 3D printing also demands compliance with numerous international and country-specific standards and requirements.
The iAM Production Site Certification verifies that your site meets the criteria for serial production. It also streamlines corporate structures and professionalizes your business processes.
Benefits of obtaining iAM production site certification:
Additive manufacturing (AM) technologies and methods are highly complex. TÜV SÜD’s iAM Production Site Certification supports additive manufacturing centers to future proof their business. Aligning your 3D printing activities with the robust framework of our certification scheme also helps to strengthen market confidence in your products and services, as TÜV SÜD is the trusted manufacturing partner for various OEM’s and the railway industry.
TÜV SÜD’s global network of multi-disciplinary experts provides end-to-end additive manufacturing support. Our extensive industry experience, and leadership of standardization projects, such as DIN SPEC 17071 and ISO/ASTM 52920, means that we contribute directly to the safe and successful establishment of processes on a global scale. This certification scheme therefore promotes the implementation of all necessary standards in iAM.
TÜV SÜD’s iAM Production Site Certification covers every requirement that an additive manufacturing center should fulfill, from processes to personnel and technology. It also accounts for all additive manufacturing technologies defined as DIN EN ISO/ASTM 52900:2017, including but not limited to PBF, MEX, VPP & DED.
During TÜV SÜD’s assessment, our iAM industry experts will audit your iAM production side. Focusing on the core aspects of your corporate processes, we verify compliance with the applicable standards and industry practices, from both strategic and operational perspectives. We also check associated periphery equipment, such as blast and mixing machines, unpacking stations and further finishing methods.
TÜV SÜD’s iAM Production Site Certification Mark generates visibility, differentiates you in the additive manufacturing market and future proofs your business against evolving requirements. The certification marks and certificates issued by TÜV SÜD are also excellent marketing tools, as they allow you to promote your additive manufacturing capabilities with confidence.
The iAM Production Site Certification Mark is awarded to companies that have successfully undergone our certification scheme. Valid for three years, continued conformity is subsequently verified in an annual one-day surveillance audit. You can be assured that your certification complies with the most up to date additive manufacturing (AM) global requirements, as our scheme is based on universally applicable quality assurance standards. As soon as these standards are published, they will be implemented within the course of TÜV SÜD’s regular surveillance audits.
Our expert teams have decades of manufacturing experience and are leading the international standardization. Here, we are in charge of the convener role within the JG 75 conformity assessment within additive manufacturing at the ISO/ASTM TC 261 – Additive Manufacturing.
