Our employees bear a great responsibility. From feasibility and planning to construction and operation, you may help to provide objective assessments and a solid basis for decisionmaking within your area of expertise.
Our employees have extensive experience with the safety assessment of industrial equipment and machinery. As an expert in this field, you will carry out testing and consulting services relating to the safety, economy and sustainability of plants and industrial technology. You will use your cutting-edge insight on innovative technologies, including robotics, industry 4.0, and additive manufacturing, to bolster your expertise in the fundamental safety of machinery.
Our experts also provide technical service solutions relating to all aspects of power production, energy and environmental technology. You may, for example, carry out the optimisation of power plant processes and energy management technical advisory, or ensure profitable return on investment through energy stimulation. Among other things, project planning for wind energy projects, prototype testing and manufacturing control for wind turbines are also part of our service portfolio.
Depending on the role, typical tasks may also include damage assessment and surveys for gas, oil, and long-distance heat lines and many more industrial assessments.
In addition to technical competence, these roles require sincerity, decisiveness and, above all, objectivity – because safety is our top priority. Apply with us if you have a degree in engineering, physics or chemistry or a similar background plus several years of relevant industry experience.

With the increasing trend in e-mobility, the number of production facilities for battery cells, modules and packs has also risen worldwide. These newly built projects need to comply with local and international compliance requirements as well as specific and industry-related specifications.
Suppliers must be managed to ensure that equipment is manufactured and delivered as specified. The approval process as well as plant installation must comply with international and national requirements such as HSE rules and meet all related safety and sustainability regulations as well as battery testing needs. It is also vital that timelines and costs are according to schedule. That’s where we come in.
From the planning of such projects to battery testing, TÜV SÜD is the place you turn to. We are the solution provider along the value chain, supporting operators of such facilities and their suppliers to facilitate seamless communication. Our global network of experts and our experience with large, complex projects help our customers increase efficiency in the R&D process and ensure that all necessary procedures have been carried out.

Gaildorf, Germany has built the world’s first storage facility for natural electricity. Four wind turbines were built on top of cylindrical water basins as part of a water pump storage power plant. With a total height of up to 178 metres, at the time these wind turbines were the highest in the world.
We were approached and entrusted with the evaluation of the water basins and towers as well as with the supervision of the construction of the wind turbines on behalf of the authorities. It was an exciting project as it was new ground for us, the customer and our wind turbine civil engineering group at Industrie Service GmbH.
The processing period was from 2016 to 2019, initially in the planning phase and later in the construction phase. The last tower acceptance tests were carried out in March 2019.

Andre Fregeau, Manager Industrial Technical Inspection Services, Americas
“In my job, I am mainly involved in the testing and certification of pressure components for compressed natural gas (CNG) and compressed hydrogen (GH2) fuel vehicles. I enjoy working in the alternative fuels sector as it is a constantly evolving market and the technology is getting better every year. I think the alternative fuel industry will mature to a point where it will eventually become a commodity. However, I think our involvement at TÜV SÜD will always be needed to ensure that the pressurised components remain safe for the end user.”
Ritu Singh, Business Development Manager, India
“I really believe in and have a passion for sustainability, so I feel extremely fortunate to have the opportunity at TÜV SÜD to pursue a career in the renewable energy sector. As business development manager, I meet with clients and explore new areas and countries where our sustainability services could be added. With every passing year it becomes more apparent how critical it is to develop new solutions around this topic, and to be able to contribute to that even just a little bit makes me feel like I’m making a difference.”
Dr. Robert Hermann, Business Unit Manager Environmental Engineering and Climate Protection, Austria
“What motivates me every day? The fact that my work contributes to leaving behind an environment worth living in for future generations. This includes conserving secondary raw materials since with my team, I certify packaging with regard to its recyclability. The results help packaging producers improve their products so they are easier to recycle. Our expertise also leaves a mark when it comes to safety at the recycling plant. Together with customers and external research partners, we develop concepts that make systems for sorting, separating and recycling safer in terms of fire protection.”
Stephan Mayer, Head of Tower, Foundation and Internals for Wind Turbines, Germany
“I personally enjoy working in the field of renewable energies as I can make a contribution to a sustainable future. My job is really varied; quality assurance is just as much a part of it as customer meetings, visits to trade fairs and conferences, and the professional growth of my team – the development of young employees especially is a great and rewarding task. My role is also about opening up new fields of activity, winning new customers and thus optimally positioning ourselves and TÜV SÜD for the future.”
Norbert Kraus, Senior Expert Greenhouse Gas Emissions Trading, Germany
“My career at TÜV SÜD started with an internship – today I look back on more than 30 years of inspiring and challenging projects in environmental services. Over time, many environmental standards in the industry have been improved. We check whether emission limits are complied with and whether measuring devices at the plants are working properly. Moreover, my job is to verify CO2 emission reports from plants in all industries affected by emissions trading, for example in the energy sector. Sometimes it's just a small thing - but with a great impact for the climate and the environment.”
Tran Minh Tai, Senior Auditor Business Assurance Division, Vietnam
“In my job I am responsible for conducting audits on Quality, Environment, and Forest Stewardship Council certification (FSC) and support our customers to build more sustainable businesses. We ensure that companies stay updated with the dynamic international standards and that their products do not negatively impact the environment. I feel proud that I can help to expand the FSC certification services of TÜV SÜD across the Southeast Asia region and thus contribute to preserve natural resources.”
Paula Auer-Saupe, Vice President, Climate Action and Certification, Germany
“In my job we tackle climate change from many different angles. For example, we are verifying energy efficiency projects in the industrial sector and CO2 reduction projects with a focus on the utilisation of green hydrogen. I am proud to contribute with my work to the increased importance of sustainable processes in the industry. In my 13 years of working for TÜV SÜD I was actively driving progress in the field of sustainable standardisation with our clients. I helped for example to develop a standard for certifying electricity from renewable energy plants.”
Dr. Natalia Duque Ciceri, Head of Global Sustainability Services, Germany

We manage sustainability service innovation and product development and support our customers to avoid greenwashing. We test and verify as a neutral party that they substantiate their products sustainability claims and contribute to the circular economy. It is great to develop new testing and service solution concepts in a highly international, diverse team."
