SCOPE:

The TÜV SÜD certification mark for batteries demonstrates that based on the safety and quality assurance, the batteries meet the requirements of part or all articles of Battery Regulation (corresponding to the mark) and comply with the criteria quoted below.

 

Basis of certification (Requirements):

Certification mark for batteries under the Battery Regulation which are based on safety and quality assurance criteria and at the same time comply with requirements of one part or all articles of the Battery Regulation.

 

GENERAL STATEMENS OF THE CERTIFICATION MARK:

 

  • Safety tested

    The voluntary certification mark with the statement “Safety tested” is issued for batteries, indicating that the battery was tested and certified by the independent third-party organisation of TÜV SÜD Product Service for conformity with the essential technical safety requirements. 

  • Quality assurance

    The voluntary certification mark with the statement “Quality assurance” is issued for batteries, indicating that the battery was assessed and audited by the independent third-party organisation of TÜV SÜD Product Service for conformity with the essential requirements for QUALITY ASSURANCE OF THE PRODUCTION PROCESS of EU Battery Regulation.

 

KEY STATEMENTS OF THE CERTIFICATION MARK

  • Restrictions of substances

    The voluntary certification mark with the statement “Restrictions of substances” is issued for batteries, indicating that the battery was tested and evaluated by the independent third-party organisation of TÜV SÜD Product Service for conformity with the essential technical requirements for restrictions of substances of EU Battery Regulation.

  • Product carbon footprint

    The voluntary certification mark with the statement “Product carbon footprint” is issued for batteries, indicating that the battery was verified and audited by the independent third-party organisation of TÜV SÜD Product Service for conformity with the essential requirements for carbon footprint of EU Battery Regulation.

  • Recycled content

    The voluntary certification mark with the statement “Recycled content” is issued for batteries, indicating that the battery was verified and audited by the independent third-party organisation of TÜV SÜD Product Service for conformity with the essential requirements for recycled content of EU Battery Regulation.

  • Performance and durability

    The voluntary certification mark with the statement “Performance and durability” is issued for batteries, indicating that the battery was tested and evaluated by the independent third-party organisation of TÜV SÜD Product Service for conformity with the essential technical requirements for performance and durability of EU Battery Regulation.

  • Labelling and marking

    The voluntary certification mark with the statement “Labelling and marking” is issued for batteries, indicating that the battery was evaluated by the independent third-party organisation of TÜV SÜD Product Service for conformity with the essential technical requirements for labelling and marking of EU Battery Regulation.

  • SoH and expected lifetime
