EU: REACH candidate list includes 240 SVHCs now
JANUARY 2024 - ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS, HARDLINES, SOFTLINES, TOYS AND CHILDREN'S PRODUCTS
On 23 January 2024, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) published the 30th update of the REACH Candidate List1. Five (5) new Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) were added, and the property of one substance was updated. Now, the Candidate List includes 240 SVHCs2.
During September and October 2023, the ECHA launched a public consultation, proposing five new substances to be identified as SVHC as well as updating the property of dibutyl phthalate (DBP).All the proposed substances have now been identified as SVHCs and included into REACH Candidate List.
Table A lists the substance names, identification numbers (CAS and EC), the reason(s) for inclusion, and their potential application(s).
