SEPTEMBER 2024 - ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS, HARDLINES, SOFTLINES, TOYS AND CHILDREN'S PRODUCTS
On 27 September 2024, an amendment of EU Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) Regulation (EU) 2019/20211 was published as Regulation (EU) 2024/25702, to newly list methoxychlor in Annex I.
Methoxychlor was identified as a POPs chemical in Annex A to the Stockholm Convention in May 2023. As European Union (EU) is a member of the Convention, it is obliged to implement measures to regulate this chemical. Hence, the EU has listed methoxychlor as a new entry in Annex I of POPs Regulation and sets a limit value for unintentional trace contaminant of methoxychlor in substances, mixtures and articles.
