Certification mark for shower trays
Scope:
The certification mark applies to shower trays.
Basis of certification:
The test procedure developed by TÜV SÜD is based on standards such as DIN 18040-1 (Construction of accessible buildings – Design principles – Part 1: Publicly accessible buildings) and DIN 18040-2 (Part 2: Dwellings).
Key words of the certification mark:
Barrier-free
The products certified by TÜV SÜD offer barrier-free accessibility. This means that the design of the products ensures accessibility for people of all ages and different abilities, with and without disabilities or other handicaps.
The certified shower trays are not more than 2 centimetres below the surrounding floor. The junction between tray and floor is preferably designed as an inclined plane. The movement area should be at least 120 x 120 cm in dwellings and 150 x 150 centimetres in publicly accessible buildings.

Production monitored
As a third-party expert organisation, TÜV SÜD verifies that the manufacturer is able to maintain consistent quality in line with the requirements throughout high-volume production and has established the necessary quality system, including incoming goods inspections, lists of materials and final product check.
In addition, calibration of the necessary measuring and monitoring equipment must be ensured. Surveillance and/or monitoring covers the testing of safety-critical components and other materials used. If unauthorised changes are made to the product, the certificate will be withdrawn and the TÜV SÜD certification mark may no longer be used.
