What is Combined Environment Testing and why is it important?

Combined environment testing combines both climatic and mechanical (vibration and shock) testing. Combined environment testing is a key part of qualification testing for Aerospace and Defense equipment. TÜV SÜD can offer combined temperature and vibration testing as well as shock to simulate real-world conditions.

TÜV SÜD has the unique ability to be able to manufacture bespoke thermal hoods to work in tandem with any of our electrodynamic and hydraulic shakers, in the past we have even carried out combined tensile load and temperature environments..

We can provide manufacturers with the following testing services:

We provide testing for temperature to many specifications including the following common standards:

  • IEC 60068

  • RTCA/DO-160

  • MIL-STD-810

  • DEF-STAN 00-35

  • ISTA

  • ASTM

  • ETSI

  • AECTP

All the above standards can be combined with temperature profiles, customer defined and response defined profiles can also be combined with temperature which are not bound to specifications.

Any test not on our UKAS scope which is within our capability can be added quickly through our flexible schedule, which is a rare privilege granted to us by our accrediting authority.
