What is Bounce testing and why is it important?

Bounce testing reduces the risk of product failure in the field by simulating an extreme transport condition that products are often exposed to during their lifetime.

Bounce testing simulates an environment of loose cargo in wheeled vehicle transit, such as a parcel for delivery or a toolkit placed on the floor of a commercial transport vehicle.

Bounce testing is not exclusively for packaged products, man portable devices, such as a hand-held radio, are often placed on the floor of a wheeled vehicle during a journey. Taking this kind of situation into account during the early stages of product development can help avoid costly last-minute design changes.
