What is ETSI EN 303 645 testing?

The European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) released the ETSI EN 303 645 standard in 2019. It was created to support the development and manufacture of Consumer Internet of Things (CIoT) devices with guidance on securing the products. It is one of the first cohesive global cybersecurity standards for Consumer IoT (CIoT), presenting all stakeholders with a single achievable standard covering equipment, communications and personal data protection. TÜV SÜD’s global network of experts and information security testing centres can help you conform to this standard and access the European market.

Why ETSI EN 303 645 testing is important

The exponential increased number of internet-connected consumer products is creating an emergence of cybersecurity threats. These threats are restricting the widespread deployment of IoT services and are main concerns for manufacturers, vendors and customers.

ETSI EN 303 645 testing indicates that products meet cybersecurity standards and ensure a degree of protection from cyber threats. This ensures that a business that develops and manufactures CIoT devices gives consumer confidence, minimises risks, proves its quality and gains a competitive edge.
