TÜV SÜD Grants CATL Testing Laboratory CTF Stage 1 qualification

TÜV SÜD Group (hereinafter referred to as "TÜV SÜD") has recently granted CTF Stage 1 qualification to the Testing and Verification Center of Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (hereinafter referred to as "CATL") for its testing laboratory. This is the first CTF granted by TÜV SÜD in the field of energy storage battery products. The award ceremony was attended by Mr. Boris Ouyang, General Manager of TÜV SÜD New Energy Company, and Mr. Su Yuzhuan, Deputy Director of CATL's Testing and Verification Center, among other distinguished guests. The CTF Stage 1 qualification of CATL's testing laboratory further strengthens the cooperation between TÜV SÜD and CATL in the field of international IEC standards testing.


ts.pr.certification-handover-tuev-sued-catlCTF (Customer Testing Facility) is an authorization under the IECEE CB scheme for corporate laboratories, indicating that the laboratory's quality system, testing equipment, testing environment, and personnel qualifications meet the relevant requirements of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IECEE) CB laboratories. The CTF qualification is granted by a Certification Body (CB) based on the laboratory's testing capabilities. As an authoritative Certification Body (CB), TÜV SÜD has confirmed that CATL has successfully achieved the CTF Stage 1 qualification. This qualification demonstrates that the laboratory's testing capabilities are internationally recognized, and it also plays an important role in enhancing the company's brand image, strengthening market competitiveness and expanding both domestic and international markets.

CB test reports and certification certificates for energy storage battery products are fundamental technical and quality requirements for products to be sold globally. CATL's testing laboratory has successfully gained TÜV SÜD's first CTF Stage 1 qualification in the field of energy storage battery products. Test data from CTF qualified laboratories may be directly accepted by global customers and certification bodies, enabling localized testing, significantly shortening the certification cycle and saving time and money.

During the CTF Stage 1 accreditation process, TÜV SÜD conducted a rigorous assessment of CATL's laboratory, covering key aspects such as test equipment, test environment, quality systems and laboratory personnel. After a detailed assessment, TÜV SÜD concluded that CATL's laboratory meets the relevant requirements of the international standard ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and granted it the CTF Stage 1 qualification. This highlights the laboratory's excellence in terms of the precision of its equipment, the standardization of its processes, the accuracy of its data and the professionalism of its staff, ensuring that the test data it produces is highly credible and supports product development and quality control. In addition, the laboratory's exceptional testing capabilities will streamline the certification process, accelerate product time-to-market and further enhance the competitiveness of its products in the global marketplace.
