Embotech provides automated driving solutions that enable vehicles to operate autonomously in various environments such as passenger car factories. These solutions enhance safety and operational efficiency by autonomously transporting vehicles from conveyor belts to logistics areas.
Together with Embotech, we accomplished a landmark project that elevates automation and safety to an entirely new level. Here is a glimpse of our journey:

• Vision: Embotech’s automated driving solutions made use of TÜV SÜD’s expertise in functional safety to ensure safe vehicle movements inside factories.
• Challenge: Unlike public roads, factory driving scenarios don't adhere to standard traffic regulations; instead, they demand customized machine safety frameworks, treating vehicles as machines in the factory.
• Solution: Through workshops and a collaborative approach, we identified potential risks and Embotech implemented safety measures, even in the absence of existing blueprints.

Compleo Charging Solutions, now part of the global KOSTAL group with deep roots in the automotive industry, specializes in developing innovative charging solutions for electric vehicles. As a trailblazer for e-mobility in Germany and Europe Compleo recently unveiled its high-power DC charging station, the eTower 200 - marking a significant step forward in advancing e-mobility infrastructure. Together, we’ve worked on a key project that highlights our strong collaboration and sets a new standard for high-power DC charging solutions and certification.

Here is a glimpse of our journey:

• Vision: Launching the eTower 200 DC charging station with smooth market entry and compliance.
• Challenge: Addressing new DC charging standards and ensuring regulatory clarity.
• Solution: TÜV SÜD provided streamlined communication, regulatory guidance, and in-house testing support for fast and seamless certification.

Future Pipe Industries (FPI) is a global leader in composite piping solutions, specialising in glass fibre reinforced plastics. With over 40 years of experience, FPI operates worldwide across energy, water, industrial, power generation, and marine sectors, supporting the energy transition with innovative and sustainable composite technologies. 

• Vision: FPI aims to enable safe, reliable hydrogen applications by advancing composite piping solutions and supporting the shift toward low-carbon energy systems. 
• Challenge: Hydrogen applications still face gaps in standardization, particularly for non-metallic materials. While metals are widely accepted, composite solutions require new qualification approaches to prove their suitability and gain market access. 
• Solution: In collaboration with TÜV SÜD, FPI obtained the Hydrogen System Component certification through a tailored testing and qualification approach. By combining TÜV SÜD’s hydrogen testing expertise with FPI’s composite know-how, new testing pathways were developed to enable certification despite missing standards. Transparent communication and close cooperation ensured a reliable path to market.

Wanbang Digital Energy is a comprehensive business in the new energy industry, specialising in charging equipment. It owns StarCharge, a leading unicorn company in Asia in charging equipment.

• Vision: StarCharge is not only shaping the future of charging equipment but also setting new standards for all Chinese new energy companies.
• Challenge: The client was under significant time pressure requesting board testing and certification to be completed within just two months. So, the biggest challenges in this project were showcasing TÜV SÜD professionalism and earning StartCharge’s trust.
• Solution: Our solution involved a structured, organised, and collaborative approach featuring direct engagement, precise planning, continuous communication, and efficient utilisation of global resources.

Lead is one of the world’s largest suppliers of new energy manufacturing equipment, specialising in eight industries, including lithium-ion batteries and photovoltaic intelligent equipment.

• Vision: Lead focuses on design, engineering and the construction of advanced manufacturing solutions catering to major players in the automotive, renewable energy and technology sectors worldwide.
• Challenge: Lead was working on a manual pilot line for lithium battery cell equipment, aiming to meet the requirements of overseas customers.
• Solution: TÜV SÜD developed a comprehensive solution after multiple discussions, covering training, design review, safety inspection and testing services.TÜV SÜD helped the customer to overcome industry challenges and establish a strong foundation for global expansion.
