Overview of the TÜV SÜD Compliance Program

TÜV SÜD’s compliance management system provides the organisational basis for compliance with applicable law. It is based on the principles of the IDW PS 980 assurance standard and is continually improved.

With our Compliance Management System, we pursue the approach of prevention, detection and response.

This includes in particular:

  • Our Code of Conduct which was first adopted in 2008 and under which all TÜV SÜD employees commit to lawful and responsible conduct and to fair treatment with absolute integrity.
  • Our Compliance@TÜVSÜD Online Training which provides an interactive training in 20 different languages based on different compliance related topics for all our employees.
  • Our core focus topics
    1. anti-corruption
    2. antitrust law
    3. export controls
    4. human rights as well as environmental protection obligations which relate to human rights.
  • Our Compliance-Organization: The central element of our compliance organisation is the Global Compliance Office at the Munich headquarters. It is led by our Chief Compliance Officer, who reports directly to the Chairman of the Board of Management. The Chief Compliance Officer acts autonomously and independently. Additionally, Compliance Officers are appointed for all our companies and regions worldwide to ensure the implementation of our Compliance Management System on a local level.
  • Our management’s clear commitment to compliance also plays an overriding role for TÜV SÜD’s good and sustainable corporate culture. Behavior, actions and decisions by management that are integrated into everyday work and lived out in an exemplary manner, as well as transparent compliance goals and values with which employees can identify are the foundations for an effective compliance management system.
