Can you describe your role within the company?
I am a Project Coordinator.
What do you enjoy most about your job and working at TÜV SÜD?
Besides being passionate about what we do, I enjoy the technical aspects of my job along with the operations management side of project coordination. I also deeply enjoy and value working with so many industry experts--it's impossible to even have break room conversation without learning about new concepts or policies, which is as exhilarating as it is practical.
Are there challenges you've faced in your career that have taught you important lessons?
It's okay to make mistakes and admit you don't know something as long as you're willing to learn. Being in the forefront of innovative climate change solutions means we are constantly learning new ways to combat problems, and you will undoubtedly get the most out of the experience if you're willing to take on a curious perspective. Never stop learning, no matter how much you grow up.
What do you think the industry will look like 10 years from now?
I am hopeful that 10 years from now, the industry will have more widely accepted technologies for monitoring, reporting, and mitigating activities that contribute to global climate change. Remote sensing will almost certainly have made validation and verification of such efforts more streamlined, but I am excited to see what other kinds of technologies pop up over the next 10 years and throughout the span of my career.
When not working, how do you spend your spare time?
Not surprisingly, I spend the majority of my free time outdoors hiking with my dog (and sometimes my bearded dragon). When indoors, I enjoy reading, writing, painting, yoga, and embroidering.
