SINGAPORE CERTIFIED MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT (SCMC)

Management Consultants will be assessed across different areas such as academic qualifications, professional training records, industry knowledge, consulting skills, people skills, and ethics.

TÜV SÜD uses academic records, professional consultancy experience, and clients’ testimonials as the starting reference point for certification. Management Consultants need to meet the following requirements to be qualified for PSCMC:

• Minimum Diploma 
• Completed minimum 1000 consulting hours in last 3 years
• Submit at least 3 write-ups of projects related to the specific business areas applied for certification from consultancy projects completed in the last 3 years
• Submit at least 3 positive client testimonials from the consultancy projects completed in last 3 years
• Pass written examination and interview conducted by the panel members in TÜV SÜD

• Minimum Diploma 
• Completed minimum 1800 consulting hours in the last 3 years and submit at least 5 write-ups of projects related to the specific business areas applied for certification from consultancy projects completed in the last 3 years, or at least 2000 consulting hours in the last 3 years and submit at least 3 write-ups of projects related to the specific business areas applied for certification from consultancy projects completed in the last 3 years
• Submit at least 5 positive client testimonials from the consultancy projects completed in the last 3 years
• Pass written examination and interview conducted by the panel members in TÜV SÜD
• To achieve WSQ Advanced Certificate in Team leadership within 18 months of the ESCMC qualification

NOTE: Any equivalent course to WSQ Advanced Certificate in team leadership or degree in management submitted would be subject to review and approval.

Step 1: ONLINE REGISTRATION

Step 2: SUBMISSION OF DOCUMENTS & PAYMENT

Applicants are required to send the application form together with the required supporting documents to [email protected]. The review will only start once all required documents and payment are received.

Step 3: PRELIMINARY CHECK BY TÜV SÜD ASSESSOR

Our assessor will review the adequacy of the application documents submitted.

Please kindly note that additional clarifications and documents may be requested.

Step 4: EXAMINATIONS

After payment is confirmed, candidates will receive an invitation for the examination.

A 90 minute written examination will be conducted on-site at our premises, which consist of 60 multiple choice questions that assess on consulting skills, people skills, project management, and ethical principles. 

Interview will be scheduled once the candidate has passed the examination. Additional cost will be charged if a re test is required.

Step 5: INTERVIEW

A panel of experts will conduct the interview to assess the competency of the candidate and recommend for award of certificate if the interview is successful.

Step 6: CERTIFICATION REVIEW

A final certification review will be conducted based on all information collected from steps 1 to 5.

Step 7: AWARD SCMC CERTIFICATE

Upon successful certification review, the candidate will be awarded the SCMC certificate, with a validity period of 3 years from date of issue.

The certified consultant’s profile will be listed here.

SCMC shall update the activities undertaken by him/her to remain relevant as a practicing management consultant. SCMC shall meet a minimum of 90 hours of continuous professional development (CPD). 

The SCMC shall submit the following at least 3 months before the expiry of their certificate for review:

• Recertification application form and CPD log sheet
• Records and supporting documents of participation in CPD activities
• At least 3 positive testimonials from the consultancy projects completed in the last 3 years 

Step 1: REMINDER EMAIL

TÜV SÜD will send recertification reminder email leading up to the SCMC expiration date. 

Step 2: SUBMISSION OF DOCUMENTS & PAYMENT

SCMC is required to submit the recertification application form, CPD log sheet and the required supporting documents.

The review will only start once all required documents and payment are received.

Step 3: PRELIMINARY CHECK BY TÜV SÜD ASSESSOR

Our assessor will review the adequacy of the recertification application documents submitted.

Step 4: CERTIFICATION REVIEW

A final certification review will be conducted based on all information collected from steps 1 to 4.

Step 5: AWARD SCMC CERTIFICATE

Upon successful certification review, the SCMC will be awarded the SCMC certificate, with a validity period of 3 years from date of issue.                            

SCMC’s profile will be updated and listed here.

The cost for PSCMC certification is SGD 2,350.00 (without optional classroom training). Transfers from other Enterprise Singapore-recognised management consultant's certification programme may opt out of the examination.  A breakdown of the fees can be seen below:

Stage 1: Application Fee – SGD 150.00
Stage 2: Examination with assisted online tutorial lesson – SGD 800.00
(Note: 1st Resit Exam – Free-of-charge; 2nd Resit Exam onward is chargeable) 
Stage 3: Interview – SGD 600.00
Stage 4: Certification (validity period of 3 years) – SGD 800.00
Total amount: SGD 2350.00
