What is THE YEMEN ENERGY EFFICIENCY LABELLING SCHEME?

The Yemen Energy Efficiency Labelling Scheme is a program established by the Republic of Yemen, Yemen Standardization, Metrology & Quality Control Organization (YSMO), designed to promote the use of energy-efficient air conditioners in Yemen. Air conditioners must meet the Minimum Energy Performance Standard (MEPS) as stipulated under the Board Director Decree 01/2024, in accordance with the mandatory standard GSO 2530/2016. Manufacturers are required to register their products with the Yemeni authorities and affix an Energy Efficiency Rating label on each registered product. This label provides consumers with information about the product’s energy efficiency, enabling them to make informed purchasing decisions.
