The Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) is a cornerstone of the European Union's efforts to achieve a circular economy and sustainability goals under the EU Green Deal. It aims to ensure that products sold in the EU are designed to be more durable, reusable, repairable, recyclable, and energy-efficient throughout their lifecycle.
The ESPR extends its scope beyond energy-related products to cover a wide range of products, incorporating requirements like the use of sustainable materials and the introduction of Digital Product Passports for more transparency in the supply chain.

Sandeep received his Bachelor of Technology in textile engineering at the University of Calcutta, India; his Master of Science in textiles science & engineering at the University of Leeds, England; and his Ph.D. in fiber & polymer science at the University of California, Davis.
