As Academy Product Manager for TÜV SÜD America, I oversee the company's training portfolio and collaborate with different stakeholders to identify their needs and priorities. I work closely with the global community to bring existing products to our local market, and I also identify local needs to develop new training products in collaboration with all BUs.

My role involves assigning budgets and managing the design and development of successful and innovative learning environments for training products to increase our portfolio. Overall, my contribution helps to ensure that TÜV SÜD America offers the highest quality and most relevant training programs to our customers.

What inspired you to work in the field of professional training and development?

I have always had a passion for education and training, and I believe that continuous learning is key to personal and professional development. Working in the field of professional training and development allows me to help others develop their skills and achieve their goals, which is incredibly rewarding.

I collaborate with different stakeholders to understand their needs, identify priorities, and assign budgets to manage the design and development of successful and innovative learning environments for our training products. Having the right pool of subject matter experts to work with and managing all our efforts in the design and development of successful training products is paramount in our business.

What are some challenges that you face as an Academy Product Manager?

In order to succeed as an Academy Product Manager, I need to master the intersection of instructional design, technology, and business, and to accomplish this I will need to wear all kinds of different hats. I need to develop empathy, creativity, leadership, innovation, and at the same level, hardcore analysis abilities, and a data-informed mindset.

One of the biggest challenges is balancing the needs and priorities of different stakeholders with available resources and budget constraints. I need to have training products that capture our learners’ attention and ensure all the learning objectives are met at the end. collaborating in our teaching and learning projects as well as to manage all these planning and production efforts to meet deadlines is cumbersome to our success. It can also be challenging to stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure that our training programs remain relevant and effective.
