TÜV SÜD’S EXTERNAL DATA PROTECTION OFFICER SERVICE
Four steps for successful data protection:

To get an exact picture, the external data protection officer begins with an inventory (digitally and / or as an on-site inventory depending on your requirements). They record data protection issues, identify data protection measures taken so far and compare these with the data protection requirements. Measures to optimise the level of data protection are derived from this comparison.
Using our comprehensive data protection management system (DSMS), data protection measures can be coordinated and monitored efficiently and easily.
Through various training measures (online training and/or face-to-face seminars), the external data protection officer shares his knowledge of data protection in the company.
The current data protection activities within your company are checked at regular intervals. This can prevent data breaches.
How can we help you protect your data? Our team is happy to answer any questions you may have.

Answers to frequently asked questions about External Data Protection Officers
As your company’s data protection officer, the external data protection officer assumes all the tasks of an internal data protection officer. This includes the implementation, coordination and review of data protection measures in the company. In addition, they’re the contact person for data protection issues in relation to customers, suppliers as well as internal departments and management.
If at least twenty employees are constantly engaged in the automated processing of personal data, a data protection officer is mandatory. If this position cannot be filled competently and reliably internally, eg for resource reasons or due to a lack of knowledge, it is advisable to engage an outsourced data protection officer.
If an employee is newly appointed to the role of internal data protection officer, they must complete time-consuming and expensive training. An external data protection officer has the necessary technical and methodological knowledge as well as many years of professional experience. Your internal data protection officer is subject to special protection against dismissal but this does not apply to an external data protection officer.
