The UCPD was developed due to market demand for a recognised qualification in Machinery Safety. Over a number of years, TÜV SÜD clients asked whether they could receive accredited training that could be used towards their Professional Development. The demand was such that TÜV SÜD took the bold step towards producing this unique qualification.

TÜV SÜD originally developed the first functional safety certification program (formally CFSE - Certified Functional Safety Expert) in 1999. Since 1999 over 1000 professionals in the field of functional safety have been certified by TÜV SÜD.
The objective of this review course is to train the delegates in the fundamental principles of functional safety and to get their competency in the functional safety standards certified by TÜV SÜD.

The aim of this one day course is to introduce and give delegates an overview of the EN 60204-1 standard in order to understand its requirements and the application of electrical, electronic and programmable electronic equipment and systems to ensure the electrical safety of machinery in industrial installations.

Electromagnetic field (EMF) safety of workplaces is a safety responsibility applying to a wide range of employers and manufacturers for protection of the health of employees and the general public.
The topic of EMF safety is explained on this course together with its regulation, management and assessment with a description of measurement equipment. It applies to industries including communications, radar, industrial processing, medicine and other fields.
