This training course provides an introduction to your legal responsibilities and requirements and the role that new technologies are having on the machinery safety lifecycle, along with practical mechanical and electrical solutions.

Degree qualified in mechanical engineering, Richard has had over 25 years of experience in the subject of machinery safety. Starting with over a decade as a duty holder, being a machinery designer, responsible for complying with the legal requirements then moving into a consultancy role specialising in machinery safety over the last 15 years. Richard has work in a range of industries and assessed a wide range of machinery. He has also worked on the enforcement side of the fence for the Health and Safety Laboratory (now part of HSE). He has latterly moved into a training role in order to transfer knowledge and experience to a broader audience.
