REGULATions
- Certification is mandatory for electrical products designated by the SEC according to the 298/2005 Supreme Decree
- The SEC QR Code is the mandatory Chilean mark to be used and labelled on certified products

REGULATORY AGENCY

Subsecretaría de Telecomunicaciones (SUBTEL)

REGULATIONS
- SUBTEL (Subsecretaria de Telecomunicaciones) is the telecommunications regulating agency in Chile
- Regulated according to the SUBTEL 1985/2017 Regulation, products that utilise radio frequency, Cellular, or Satellite technology require approval and certification to be commercialised in Chile.
GUIDELINES
- Submit the application form
- Test report* with FCC or CE standard accepted (In-country testing required for telecom equipment connect to the telecommunications network, such as analogue telephones or fax machines.)
- Type Approval issued by SUBTEL
- No labelling requirement for wireless device
- SAR statement required if the equipment with SAR requirement
- SUBTEL and certification number must be on the label for analogue telephones and printers

APPLICABLE PRODUCT CATEGORIES

Product scope:
- Portable transceivers, remote radio controls, wireless microphones, wireless telephones, including some DECT systems, RFID equipment, radio alarms, communication systems for medical implantation, other equipment used for medical applications, equipment used as radar systems in vehicles, ZigBee devices.
