Mobile and Stationary Fuel Cell Systems

E-Learning90 minBeginnerSelf-paced / e-Learning

Everything you need to know about fuel cell systems!

The global demand for electrical energy is constantly increasing. At the same time, renewable energy sources only supply electricity when the sun is shining or the wind is blowing. Therefore hydrogen assumes a key role for sustainable energy storage to store excess electricity. Fuel cell systems are a key technology for leveling out generation and using when no wind is blowing or sun is shining. Additionally hydrogen offers the possibility for transporting the electricity, also overseas. For generation hydrogen, so-called power-to-gas systems are necessary to convert electricity into hydrogen. Hydrogen can be used in mobile applications as vehicles or trains, but it is also applicable in stationary systems, which are also playing an increasingly important role, e.g. in safeguarding critical infrastructures.

In this e-learning course, you will learn, among other things, the basics of the various fuel cell technologies, their functionality and interaction with the subsystems, the applicable standards and guidelines as well as the differences between stationary and mobile applications.
