Companies like ours have a duty to keep this in the forefront of our minds as we play our part in shaping the future.

Sustainable, responsible action aimed at protecting people and the environment has been a pillar of TÜV SÜD’s corporate objectives from the outset and has served the company as a guiding principle since its foundation in 1866. For over 155 years, we have enabled progress by protecting people, the environment and assets from technology-related risks. We support and shape technological transformation, constantly adjusting and aligning our services with the goal of guaranteeing optimum safety and security as well as efficient business operations. By doing so, we constantly reaffirm our commitment to our founding principles.

At TÜV SÜD we are very clear about our goal: to live up to our responsibility as a company, and to shape the future in a sustainable manner. Many of our services have contributed to this goal since our inception: our certificates and certification marks confirm the safety, security, and efficiency of infrastructure and equipment, assure the quality of products and processes, and make performance transparent.

We inspire trust – perhaps the foremost requirement for joint action – because we firmly believe that true sustainability is only possible when it represents the interests of as many societal groups as possible. Only if there is broad consensus between the spheres of business, society, and the environment will we be able to live sustainably and create value. The challenges ahead can only be mastered together.

We drive our company’s sustainable strategy and work consistently on the systematization of our activities. We are increasingly aligning our entire company to sustainability criteria, ensuring transparency in both our objective and our actions.

Our sustainability report was produced on the basis of the GRI Standards’ “Core” option, issued by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). We have further commissioned regular assessments by NQC and by the independent CSR rating platform EcoVadis. In 2023, we have been awarded Platinum status.  This places TÜV SÜD in the top 1% of companies evaluated in our sector.
