EU: REACH candidate list includes 233 SVHCS now

JANUARY 2023 - ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS, HARDLINES, SOFTLINES, TOYS AND CHILDREN'S PRODUCTS

On 17 January 2023, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) published the 28th update of the REACH Candidate List1. Nine (9) new Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) were added. Hence, the total number entries of SVHCs on the Candidate List increases from 224 to 2332.

During September and October 2022, ECHA launched public consultation, and proposed nine substances to be identified as SVHC. Now all the proposed substances are identified as a SVHC and included into REACH Candidate List.

Table A lists the new SVHC included in the 28th update of the Candidate List.
