The Museum of London has revealed plans to transform a campus of dilapidated market buildings in West Smithfield into a world-class cultural venue, with content-rich displays set inside atmospheric exhibition spaces.

The transformation of the project will be overseen by award-winning architectural team, Stanton Williams Architects, London designer Asif Khan and Julian Harrap Architects. The Museum of London (MoL) will be part of the West Smithfield Market refurbishment located outside Farringdon Station. The project comprises Poultry Market,  General Market and Annexe Buildings.

TÜV SÜD have developed access and maintenance strategy for external façade, internal spaces including access to MEP services. Given the exhibit layouts, the strategy is based on systems to operate within tight-fit floor spacings.

Our façade access consultants have coordinated with other key disciplines namely Structural, Facades and MEP. Several options were explored under the light of cleaning time, capital and on-going costs before concluding the strategy. Regular meetings were attended with CDM and project Health & Safety team particularly when designing façade replacement strategy.
