Argentina Telecom Authority approve test standards for Digital Broadband equipment and Frequency Hopping Systems

LThe Director of National Communications in Argentina – ENACOM – published resolution no. 1132/2023 that approves technical standards ENACOM-Q2-63.02 V23.1 for Equipment of broadband digital modulation systems (Annex 1) and ENACOM-Q2-63.03 V23.1 for Equipment of frequency hopping systems (Annex 2).

Standard ENACOM-Q2-63.02 V23.1 specifies the minimum necessary conditions to be met by equipment of Digital Broadband Modulation Systems. The Standard applies to equipment with at least one interface using digital broadband modulation techniques. It establishes test methods to be used by laboratories in the verification of specifications. Examples of technologies covered by this Standard are:

IEEE 802.11xx;
Bluetooth LE;
IEEE 802.15.4 (Zigbee);
DSSS;
OFDM.

Standard ENACOM-Q2-63.03 V23.1 specifies the minimum necessary conditions to be met by equipment that are part of Frequency Hopping Systems. The Standard applies to equipment that has at least one interface using the frequency hopping technique. It establishes test methods to be used by laboratories in the verification of specifications. Examples of technologies covered by this Standard are:

FHSS;
Bluetooth;
IEEE 802.15.4.

This Resolution establishes a period of 90 calendar days from publication (until November 16, 2023) that applications for registration in the Register of Telecommunications Activities and Materials (RAMATEL) can still be done based on Resolution No. 784/1987. After this date, the testing of equipment needs to be based on the standards approved in Articles 1 and 2 of Resolution No. 1132/2023.

The resolution number 1132/2023 came into force on 18th August 2023.
