Why is fluid flow measurement in industry so important? In this video, Colin Lightbody, Principal Consultant at TÜV SÜD National Engineering Laboratory, talks about the differences between process flow measurement and commercial flow measurement. He focuses on the value of good commercial measurement and specifically, custody transfer measurement where he uses the example of filling up your car with fuel. Colin also discusses the importance of fluid flow measurement for industries including food and beverage, water, crude oil and natural gas and future technology developments like carbon capture and storage and hydrogen. The video also looks at the legal and moral obligations companies must comply with to ensure that proper care and consideration is given to flow metering. And the penalties you could face for non-compliance.
TÜV SÜD National Engineering Laboratory is the Designated Institute for the UK’s flow measurement standards. We are ideally placed to help ensure that all industry fluid flow measurements are fair and equitable, and to help shape the direction of the world’s energy transition.
If your business works with fluid flow measurement and you’d like to learn how you can optimise your flow measurement processes, please contact our team at TÜV SÜD National Engineering Laboratory.
