We are pleased to share that we have secured a new contract with Network Rail to deliver fully comprehensive planned inspections across their extensive portfolio of lifts and escalators. Through this partnership, we will be conducting inspections to ensure full compliance with LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations) and PSSR (Pressure Systems Safety Regulations) lift inspections, along with SAFed compliance inspections for escalators and moving walkways.
Network Rail currently manages around 1,440 lifts and 280 escalators or moving walkways located at managed stations, train operating company sites, and other locations throughout the UK.
This new contract comes as Network Rail’s portfolio of lifts and escalators is set to grow significantly over the next decade, driven by the Access for All programme’s mission to make stations fully accessible.
Paul Hastings, TÜV SÜD Real Estate Divisional Director, said:
“We’re pleased to have been awarded this contract with Network Rail, as it underscores our commitment to delivering high standards in safety and compliance. Our team is ready to bring their expertise to this substantial portfolio, ensuring that each lift and escalator meets rigorous inspection requirements and supports a safe, accessible environment for all passengers. We look forward to a strong partnership with Network Rail as they expand their infrastructure, and we’re excited to play a key role in supporting their future growth.”
