UK Conformity Assessment, or UKCA, is the regulatory process by which certain economic operators can ensure compliance of their products when being placed on the GB market. Born as a result of Brexit, this process is similar to CE marking for EU countries; we explore the impact of Brexit plus the associated timelines currently in place for UKCA, the acceptance of CE marked items, and an extension to labelling requirements too.
Whilst there exists a multitude of ways various product types can be approved (particularly complex areas include Medical and Marine), most consumer products of an electrical/electronic/wireless type, be it household or garden usage, are ‘approved’ by way of self-declaration. However, there are many hidden obligations of a Manufacturer that start-ups or those without any regulatory background might not be aware of. This includes writing a declaration of conformity (DoC), generating a technical file (documentary evidence of conformity), and labelling. This webinar will cover all of these aspects and include rationale on the selection of standards too.
This webinar is expected to run for around 45 mins with 15 mins allocated for Q&A’s.
Test labs can offer advice in various ways and TUV SUD are here to help you navigate the complex field of conformity assessment. We don’t just quote full testing! We can offer test efficiencies, delta reports that allow reduced or no testing, or compliance advice that suits your budget.
